Report: Tiger Woods to return to golf next month

Tiger Woods plans to return to professional golf very soon. How will he do in yet another return to the game?

Tiger Woods has announced on his website that he plans to return to the Safeway Open on Oct. 13-16. This marks the fourth time Woods has returned from being absent from golf, due to injury.

He also “hopes” to play in the Turkish Open which is from Nov. 3-6. Finally, he’ll try to play in his own tournament, the Hero World Challenge which is from Dec. 1-4.

The Tiger Woods Invitational which is a one day tournament, is another event he is considering. That tournament is from Oct. 10-11.

If Woods returns at these tournaments, how will he fare? He’ll likely struggle early on, especially with the depth of the PGA Tour nowadays.

Woods last competed at the Wyndham Championship in 2015 and finished T-10. However, in 2015, he also missed the cut in three out of the four major championships.

That’s kind of where it matters the most. However, if Woods does return soon, it’ll certainly be interesting to see how he does, even if it is for a third or fourth time.

How will he putt? That’s going to be the biggest question going into his return.

He’s one of the greatest putters of all-time and that has always been his strongest suit. It’s also the reason why he has won so many major championships.

Another thing is his clutch ability. Can he close a tournament that he is leading?

A combination of this, and his putting is what’s ultimately going to decide where Woods is at with his game. It will also help if he can hit some fairways.

However, with how good his putting can be, he’s capable of avoiding bad scores. Right now however, he’s just going to be another golfer on tour, as the competition is extremely fierce now, and he still needs to work his swing out.

Nonetheless, it’ll be interesting for the golf world to see the return of Woods, yet again.

Tiger Woods will return soon, takes fulls swings at clinic

Tiger Woods may be returning to golf sooner than you think as he was seen at a junior golf clinic hitting golf balls.

Woods has been behind the ropes since the Fall of 2015 and was said to be out of golf for a long time. But, with footage of Woods taking full swings on a course, the story may change and he even reportedly drove the ball 300 yards with his driver.

Here’s the clip:

Here’s another clip that will give you an even better view:

Even the Golf Channel Tiger Tracker is happy that their job isn’t in jeopardy after all:

Tim Rosaforte reported that Woods could possibly make a return at the Wells Fargo Championship or the Players Championship, both being marquee tournaments on the PGA Tour.

There has been quite a bit of the 14 time major champion the last few days. First, Jason Sobel of ESPN teased that “Golf Twitter is going to break tomorrow” and it turns out that the tease was a longform article (Short story?) about Woods personal life and upbringing written by Wright Thompson.

The piece has since garnered a ton of attention. Some of the main things in the article include how wired he was with the military as he was always with his father (Earl Woods) and his friends who were all veterans. Woods didn’t have many friends until he met former player and Golf Channel analyst Notah Begay III at a young age.

The also talks about how Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan taught him how to talk to women (Basically) which ultimately could’ve led to his infamous scandal back in 2009, knowing the power he had. But the main point of the article is that, ever since his father died, it has been the biggest reason that he has had his downfall from greatness and how Woods developed in obsession with the Navy Seals because of his father.

However, ironically, the clips above surfaced across social media, not long after Thompson posted his piece. So, although Thompson’s piece was talking about the reasons of his downfall, the videos show that he’s swinging good again.

The clips aren’t a guarantee that he’ll be great again, but it was just interesting with the timing of them. Woods is no stranger to leaving and coming back to golf however as this may be the third time has done so in his career due to injury problems.

NBA legend and friend Michael Jordan said via the Thompson piece that he thinks Woods is “tired” and “wants to retire”. Jordan also said he’s worried about him.

Woods played fairly well at last year’s Masters but missed the cut at the U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship. When Woods returns, he and Phil Mickelson who are longtime rivals, will be sailing in the sea of young talent trying to see which ship reaches land first.

Should be interesting.

WATCH: Tiger Woods hints return on Twitter, Rory McIlroy reacts

Tiger Woods comeback part 3 might be coming together smoother than expected as he posted a video of himself hitting shots on his simulator.

The only thing the tweet says is “Progressing nicely” and he lets the video speaks for itself. Woods got injured back in September and he said later that there was “no timetable” for his return and with this video, it seems that he may be back sooner rather than later.

Rory McIlroy tweeted a cute tweet in response to the clip.

McIlroy was then relieved that people took the joke well.

So, this is very interesting and we’ll see when Woods makes his return. Will it be in time for any of the majors?

We will soon see. But what do YOU think? When do you think Tiger Woods will make “comeback 3.0”?
