As the Greenbrier Classic is making an amazing return to the world of golf after an awful flood occurred last year, the comparison between last year and this year is insane. The PGA Tour shared the jaw dropping side by side photos of the flooded Old White TPC compared to this year’s clean and beautiful venue.
These two photos of The @GbrClassic are just one year apart.

The Greenbrier truly is one of the most beautiful golfing locations in the United States. To see it in such a mess was sad to see, but it’s great to see the legendary Greenbrier Classic has made a triumphant return.
As we look back at it, we can say that the course had the largest water hazard in the world for a brief time. The last time the Greenbrier Classic was played, it was back in 2015 when Danny Lee won it.
Certainly for any photojournalist, it has to be a chilling experience to take a picture of the flooded course, and then take another of it after it’s been cleaned up. The Greenbrier is not only home to the Old White TPC, but is home to the oldest course in the United States, Oakhurst Links, a beautiful nine hole track.
It’s just great to have the course back and the tournament back. However, don’t you dare try to find a flooded ditch so you can hit flop shots out of.
My best advice would be to hit flop shots IN the flooded ditch. Hey, it could make for fun target practice.
