According to the Associated Press, Phil Mickelson confirmed that FBI agents that were investigating insider trading approached him at Jack Nicklaus’ famed Memorial Tournament this week in regards to possible insider trading between he, gambler Billy Walters and billionaire investor Carl Icahn. The hall of famer who’s racked up several wins and five major titles has come out and said that he has done “absolutely nothing wrong” according to the Press. The insider trades involved Clorox Co. and the FBI was also looking at some potential trades made through Dean’s Co. as well but the main focus is what happened with Clorox. Ichan is one of the wealthiest people in America with a whopping net worth of $20 billion in due to him buying out underperforming companies to make a massive amount of money and some those companies included eBay, Dell and Apple. He is the 18th wealthiest person in America according to the Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Walters is an icon is the sports betting community as he has made a ridiculous amount of money off of betting which led to him owning several golf courses and auto dealerships. He’s bet millions upon millions on Super Bowls alone and claims that he hasn’t had a losing season. He won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am along with Fredrik Jacobson back in 2008 as he’s supposed to be a pretty good golfer. He’s also made connections with many celebrities and other PGA Tour pros where they’ve played golf together. Walters has a massive net worth of $125 million and that has continued to grow with all of the golf courses and dealerships he’s making money off of to go along with the money he’s making from all of the betting.
Phil mentions that this situation won’t stop him in his pursuit at winning the U.S. Open which would give him the rare and coveted career grand slam.
“It’s not going to change the way I carry myself,” Mickelson said according to the AP. “Honestly, I’ve done nothing wrong. I’m not going to walk around any other way.

John, John, John! Always doing some of the most craziest things in golf! In the video below, he tees off of chick’s mouth. This definitely makes Playboy look pretty stupid! As usual, JD crushed the tee shot like only he can and was very accurate. The funny part though was after it was done when the woman ran to the gentleman that was crouching and hugged him as if to say “OH MY GOD! IT’S OVVEERRR!”. Well, at least JD is a professional golfer although he hasn’t won a tournament in 10 years. He does have two majors though! Typical John Daly! Below is the video, thanks to Shane Bacon of Devil Ball Golf for sharing!

Well, this might be a controversy stirrer for some. Patrick Reed won the WGC Cadillac Championship on Sunday going wire to wire for the victory and afterwards told NBC how great he’s played and where he stands in the golf world.
“I’ve worked so hard, I’ve won a lot in my junior career, did great things in (my) amateur career, was 6-0 in match play in NCAAs, won NCAAs two years in a row, got third individually one year, and now I have three wins out here on the PGA Tour.” Reed said according to GolfChannel.com.
“I just don’t see a lot of guys that have done that, besides Tiger Woods, of course, and, you know, the other legends of the game. It’s just one of those things, I believe in myself and – especially with how hard I’ve worked – I’m one of the top five players in the world.”
Of course the top 5 comment lit up social media like Broadway, the Vegas Strip or Chicago on a summer night. Not to mention the comment where he said not too many guys did what he did might be disrespectful as well. He seems like a pretty nice guy, just those comments were a little too much I mean, your college and junior careers? This is the PGA Tour son! I appreciate his confidence but he’s not top five, not even close. He hasn’t even faced the drama and stress of playing in a major yet. Wait until the Masters come along buddy. Again, seems like a nice guy but he’s young and I guess he let those three wins get to him. Plus, his caddy’s a chick who happens to be his wife so that makes him feel great too I’m sure.
I was listening to a bit of CBS Sports radio and Amy Lawrence even threw him in the same sentence as NFL cornerback Richard Sherman but all she said was “He’s not Richard Sherman but golf’s a gentleman’s game” so it wasn’t a big deal and Amy is a gentle lady so I can understand her comments because she’s full of awesome. Yes, golf is a gentleman’s game and unfortunately we’ve seen some pretty mouthy players over the years including Ian Poulter, Steve Elkington, Rory Sabatinni and Sergio Garcia. Look, y’all are professional golfers making millions of dollars, just shut up and play. As for Patrick Reed, I got two sides of this. I don’t think he’s even close to how the guys I named above are and also, he’s real young as I mentioned and I think over time, that quote will wear down.
In the winner’s conference Sunday, Reed mentioned his personal top five players which included Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell, and Dustin Johnson and of course himself. It’s easy for us to say hey, this guys a total d-bag but again, this is the first time we’ve heard him say something else and very well could be his last and we should most certainly take that into account.
One thing that Patrick can definitely feel goes about is this. He’s only the fifth player behind Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia and Rory Mcilroy to win three times before the age of 24. Pretty elite if you ask me.
So, what do you think about Patrick Reed’s comments? Cocky? Just really confident? Leave your thoughts in the comments below! Also, for fun, since Patrick mentioned his personal top five players, why don’t you name yours? Who are your personal top five players right now?

Tiger Woods Might Be Focused More on Money Than Prestige as He is Urged to ‘Respect’ the WGC-HSBC Champions
The WGC-HSBC Champions tournament has been quite a popular one and golf’s biggest star hasn’t played in the event in a couple of years. Instead, Tiger Woods has decided to play in exhibitions that offered solid payouts. HSBC’s sponsorship chief has urged Woods to respect the bank’s large investment in the tournament and play the event this year instead of “meaningless money-making opportunities”. HSBC’s global head of sponsorship Giles Morgan said that the bank had “had words” with the different golf tours about impressing on players the importance of appearing at the sport’s biggest events according to Yahoo Sports.
“I do think the tours — and I think the tours are working on this — should make sure that there is respect to the tournaments,” Morgan said in an interview in Singapore according to Yahoo Sports.
“As opposed to playing in meaningless… money-making opportunities around the World Golf Championships (WGC).”
Morgan also added: “It’s up to the tours to enforce the criteria to their membership. And we’ve expressed our position to the tours, which is that we know they can’t enforce their players to play and that’s fine, we understand that.
“But we do think that players need to be respectful of… these major events (which) are really at the top and the pinnacle and the lifeblood of the sport.”
So, this situation feels like it can go both ways. Yes, it’s kind of disrespectful to not play in a golf tournament that people work hard to put together but at the same time, the golfers can do whatever they want. HSBC gets plenty of golfers to their tournament but I understand that this is Tiger Woods we’re talking about and the more Woods is in the tournament, the more boost the tournament gets. The question is, why hasn’t Woods been playing in this tournament? Is it a money issue? Because if it truly is then that’s a shame on Woods’ part since the man just earned over a billion dollars for his career. However, could it be a greed thing on HSBC”s part as well? Or do they really want more players to play to help bring more fans to the event? The tournament is already highly popular but I guess I can kind of see the frustration from Morgan.
I’d too be wondering why a player of Woods caliber would play in any other tournament but mine but not in a selfish way but in a sense of “Man, am I doing something wrong with this tournament?”. Mr. Morgan should probably chill out though I mean, Woods is only one golfer out of the several that join the tournament plus, the HSBC Champions is still one of the bigger tournaments in the world so he should just let it go. Besides, it’s only been a two-year absence so I don’t really see the big deal but it can honestly go both ways considering Woods was taking part in supposedly “meaningless opportunities”. Again, if Woods was missing out on the HSBC because of money and nothing else then he should be very ashamed of himself as he is easily one of the richest people on earth. So, what do you guys think? Is Tiger Woods losing respect for the HSBC Champions? Is Giles Morgan over reacting to the situation? Maybe Morgan’s comments are kind of knock to the players who are committed to the event? Who knows, but please leave your comments below on this situation!

Tiger Woods Makes Over $1 Billion Over His Career, Why it Will Go Down as One of the All-Time Great Milestones
Man, can you say “Dolla Dolla Bill Y’allll”? Tiger Woods sure can after he earned well over $1 billion over his long 18 year career according to Golf Digest and Yahoo Sports. The world’s no.1 golfer made a whopping $83 million in 2013 after he had a five win season which led to several Player of the Year awards with Adam Scott being the only other player winning a Player of the Year award. Woods was followed by Phil Mickelson ($52 million in 2013), Arnold Palmer ($40 million), Jack Nicklaus ($26 million), Henrik Stenson ($19 million) and Rory Mcilroy ($18 million despite his 2013 struggles). This is really quite the accomplishment considering how young he still is. He’s only 38 and has made more money than many athletes and celebrities make in a lifetime. He also now has the highest net worth for any current or retired athlete making him the richest athlete of all-time surpassing Arnold Palmer whose net worth is over $600 million. Now, check this out, according to Yahoo Sports, wait, hold on, you ready for this? 88 percent of Tiger’s $1.3 billion came off of endorsements.
Although we all knew that he was getting more paper from ads and endorsements than his play, I don’t think we knew it was a whole 88 percent of the earnings. After being off his game the last few previous years and he’s still trying to get back to form, it’s still good being Tiger Woods today. He’s a $1.3 billion man, he has a new girl, he’s the no.1 player in the world again and now, he’s only two years away from being eligible for the hall of fame which he’ll obviously get in as soon as he hits 40. Now, here’s why I think this will go down as one of the greatest milestones in sports history (Note: This is coming from a non Tiger Woods fan). Like I’ve mentioned above, he’s the richest athlete of all-time and by far the youngest to reach such a mark. Also, golf’s a money sport, a lot of things are based around cash flow, heck money’s even a stat in this sport and Woods is definitely taking advantage of that stat both on and off the course.
So, due to the significance of money in golf, Woods is doing the sport proud although the majority of his cash is coming off of endorsements. He’s still made plenty of money on Tour and the $83 million he made this year is no exception despite not winning a major like many had expected. Let’s if having all of this extra money will get to his head this season. I know, I know, he’s been loaded with riches for a long time but not THIS rich so we’ll see how it all goes for Mr. Woods. What would y’all do with all of that money? I’d hope you’d give a lot of that money to charities and children in need!

Well then….this is awkward. During a round at the Franklin Templeton Shootout, the guy who’s received a lot of attention this year, Jason Dufner is back in the spotlight again only this time it’s more embarrassing. As he was setting up for a putt, supposedly he accidentally hit it but wasn’t trying to or so it seems. If that was a full stroke then that would give you the red cheeks of embarrassment but since the almighty Duff’s the badass that he is, he just pretty much ignores it LIKE A BOSS! video courtesy of PGATour.com.
Weird right? You don’t see anything like that too often especially on the greens which is practically a rock solid surface while being in the in the fairway or rough, you may see more movement. So, is this the worst putt ever? You decide!
