As you may know by now, EA Sports cut ties with Tiger Woods as the face of their golf video game franchise and replaced him with Rory McIlroy, renaming the game, “Rory McIlroy PGA Tour”. Originally, the game was supposed to been just simply “EA Sports PGA Tour” which was teased last summer at the annual E3 video game convention.
You know how most sports games come out yearly?
Ya know? Madden NFL “16” or NBA 2K “16”?
Notice how Rory’s game does NOT feature the typical number showcasing the year?
Well, that’s because, for the first time in the legendary golf franchise’s history, the newly named Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will NOT be a yearly release according developer Justin Patel who confirmed this on the Operation Sports golf forum.
The game is set to launch with only 8 real courses. Those courses being, TPC Sawgrass, St. Andrews, Royal Troon, Bay Hill, TPC Boston, Whistling Straits, Wolf Creek and Chambers Bay with TPC Scottsdale as a bonus course when you pre-order the game.
The game will also feature 4 fantasy courses. These courses are Paracel Storm (Based on a location in Battlefield 4), Coyote Falls which is a course in the Grand Canyon, Wetlands and Lighthouse Pointe.
Wetlands and Lighthouse Pointe will play more like real courses however according to Patel.
The 8 real courses brought on a ton of outrage across social media since EA hasn’t posted info on the new model yet. Justin Patel’s post on Operation Sports is the only thing right now.
The great thing about this game not being a yearly release is that we can see quite a lot of extra courses down the road. So it can easily go from 8 to 50+ courses later on.
Who knows, Augusta might even make a return thanks to the new model.
Some other courses that can possibly make it in could be Medinah, Merion, Shinnecock Hills, or Fishers Island just to throw some names out there. Some brand new fantasy courses could also be a possibility.
Many have also complained about the lack of female golfers but again, thank to this new model, we can easily see LPGA players make their way back in. Besides, one of game’s slogans is “Next Gen Golf” or “Welcome to the next generation of golf” and I think it would only make sense to have three of arguably the best players on the planet in Inbee Park (26), Stacy Lewis (30) and Lydia Ko (18) in the game who are all young and in their prime.
So there’s a lot to look forward to with EA’s newest golf game.
And for those of you who are EA gamers, I know what you’re thinking. “THEY’RE JUST GOING TO THROW DLC (Downloadable Content) AT US ALL DAYYY!!”.
I know it’s hard to resist complaining but these post launch updates will be free for the most part. So you can unbuckle your belt and take a breath now.
Other things the game will include is an online mode where players tee it up simultaneously. However, you can see each other hit shots so it doesn’t feel like it’s just you out there.
Would be pretty funny if two balls landed in the same exact spot though. Another online feature is the “hole clock” which requires you to finish a whole in a certain amount of time so this helps speed up play for competitive rounds.
One of the big features for this game (And to some, quite shocking) which really puts the term “Golf Without Limits” into play is a new mode called “The Night Club Challenge”.
In the Night Club, players play through over 170 unique challenges in a night club style setting on three different courses. Challenges include, hitting targets, hitting shots through rings, using pitch shots to break floating plates and playing Stroke Play.
How it works from what I see is that you play each hole on each lf the three courses. Each hole has several challenges to complete to move to the next one.
This is very similar to EA Sports’ mobile game, “King of the Course” where you complete challenges on each hole on some the world’s most famous courses such as Pinehurst no.2, St. Andrews, and Banff Springs. Only differences are that the Night Club’s challenges are a little different, the courses are different, it’s in a night setting, and the golfers are different which I’ll get to in a second.
You also can use different boosts which are the strategic bread and butter to success in The Night Club. Some boosts may include extra power off the tee or making your ball extremely heavy so it can drop and stop on a dime.
You can unlock (Remember that term? “Unlock”?) new fantasy golfers to use such as the Battlefield Soldier and Nevada Smith. According to Operation Sports, the full list of fantasy characters include the Battlefield Soldier, Nevada Smith, Laser Logan, and the return of the legendary Pops Masterson from the older Tiger Woods games but he brought his wife Edna Masterson with him as she is unlockable as well.
I assume Nevada Smith is EA’s version of Indiana Jones and judging by the way he’s dressed (You’ll see him in the Night Club trailer hitting pitch shots into green plates), I’d say that’s a definite YES. He also looks like a character from one of my favorite video games of all-time, Free Realms (Doesn’t exist anymore sadly. The servers were shut off just last year).
No doubt Nevada Smith and Pops will be my go to guys along with Jason Dufner when I don’t feel like using my created golfer.
The courses in the Night Club will be the golfing roller coaster that is Wolf Creek, the Paracel Storm course and Coyote Falls which is the course that is based in the Grand Canyon. You start your Night Club experience at Wolf Creek and go on from there.
Finally, two kinda small, but key features in the game that also fit into the “Golf Without Limits” category are no out of bounds and no load times between holes. No out of bounds means you can hit the ball wherever you want and truly can “hit it where it lies” while no load times shave the time off your rounds.
EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will be available July 14th on PS4 and Xbox One. If you have an Xbox One, the game is available right now as a trial via EA Access.
Now if only they could let us walk around a clubhouse and hit the driving range and such. Yeah, that would be cool and could be a possibility with the new model.

WOW! Did anyone see this coming? After Tiger Woods has been the face of the EA Sports golf franchise for 17 years, there’s a new cover boy representing the legendary video game. Four time major champion Rory Mcilroy is the new face of the longtime franchise with the new name being “Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour”.
It’s a bold move for EA Sports since, like Tiger Woods, some people hate him and some people love him. Putting a name on a video game is a risk, but it’s a risk EA thinks is worth taking.
Either way, the game sounds like it could be terrific and from what I’m hearing, the courses should be epic.
Here’s a tweet of the new cover:
— EA SPORTS PGA TOUR (@EASPORTSGOLF) March 16, 2015
And here’s a short clip showing the incredible graphics of the game:
On the same day EA Sports made the announcement, HB Studios announced the Collector’s Edition for their game, The Golf Club which is continuing to blossom as the game starts getting more popular.
The game will also feature “The Night Club” which, although not much is said about it will feature amazing power boosts while teeing off on unreal fantasy courses. Sounds amazing.
Frank Nobilo and Rich Lerner will be the broadcasters in this year’s game.
To be honest, I’m not a big fan of the cover move simply because as I mentioned, putting a name on the game may turn some people off. Sure, it’s all about the gameplay and not the person that’s on it right? But for the people who dislike Mcilroy, this is not going to bid well for them.
I thought simply calling the game “PGA Tour” was the smart move and just putting different golfers on the cover each year.
That said, I’m very excited about this game and I’m sure you are as well. The gameplay is all that matters and if it’s got epic courses with battleships and stuff then I’m down for it.
This is an exciting time for golf video games and it should be a lot of fun to tee it up on consoles.
Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour will release in June.

Well, EA Sports has been very quiet about their new golf game simply titled “PGA Tour” which was the name of their very first title back in 1986. They released an epic trailer for the Tiger Woodsless video game back in June of 2014 during the popular E3 video game convention where Ian Poulter is seen blasting a tee shot over a moving battleship during war.
Ever since then however, EA has been almost completely silent since the trailer leaving fans questioning if the game will release this year or not. Some fans believe EA has been retooling the game to compete with the increasingly popular golf simulation game, The Golf Club by HB Studios.
Either way, they finally look like they’re about to spill the beans on their new game. They did a little teaser video on Twitter and Facebook just to mess around with fans once again.
Here’s the 12 second clip:
Let's get the ball rolling… pic.twitter.com/qcVe1F4tdP
— EA SPORTS PGA TOUR (@EASPORTSGOLF) March 12, 2015
A lot of fans think it’s an Easter Egg and I can partially agree because of the color. From my view it just looks a little too round to be an Easter Egg but the way it rolls might have something to do with that.
Thing is, the caption of the video says “Let’s get the ball rolling”. “BALL”. I see many people say that if it is indeed an egg, than that means the game may release on Easter which could very well be likely despite GameStop’s placeholder date of June 30th.
Another tweet tells us that the game could be bigger than expected:
— Mike Berlin (@mikeberlin) March 12, 2015
And in case you didn’t see it (This is probably the third time I shared it), here’s the epic trailer of the game which was showcased way back in June of 2014.
As a video game geek, I can write about golf video games all day, and I too feel like I’m going nuts because EA has been teasing us for so long.
But don’t be surprised if we hear some news on Tuesday which is a day where video games, books, etc are all released, including game news.
The wait is finally over my friends! *Party horns sound*

EA Sports PGA Tour, formerly known as Tiger Woods PGA Tour, will be on hand at the always very popular PGA Merchandise Show. They will have both a long drive contest and a closest to the pin contest so this will get golf gaming fans a chance to experience what the new game will bring.
This comes as a sigh of relief to many of us who are gaming nerds as EA Sports hasn’t released any info at all since they released the trailer for the game way back in June. Now, the gates seem to slowly be opening into what this game will bring.
As you may know, the trailer consists of what appears to be a gorgeous virtual version of the legendary Pete Dye designed TPC Sawgrass course with Ian Poulter taking a swing.
Poulter finds himself teeing off in the middle of a war zone on a beautiful island. He then proceeds to hit a tee shot over a moving battleship that crashes onto the island as Poulter’s ball lands in the hole for an ace.
Now, that same trailer has taken heat from traditionalists for basically not being boring. I think it’s freakin’ cool that they’re doing this and adding a variety to the game but traditionalists simply want golf games to be yawn fests which is why they haven’t sold in recent years.
The old games were awesome and were they reason why they were popular. In later years, EA took out some of the wonderful things that made the older games so perfect.
They took out celebrations, epic camera angles when you hit a great shot, power boosts off the tee, and of course, David Feherty and Gary McCord who were hilarious in those games (Feherty is in the current games but isn’t as funny). Now they seem like they’re going back to their roots and that’s fantastic to see.
My attitude is, if you want something more like realistic golf, then play The Golf Club as I mentioned before. That’s what I’m going to do is play The Golf Club when I want something more realistic and play EA PGA Tour when I want something totally extreme.
Plus, there’s going to be real PGA Tour courses in the game anyway so it’s not like there’s going to be all crazy fantasy courses. Haters gonna hate though.
So, let’s keep an eye out for anymore information on this game. If the cover athlete is announced for the game, you bet I’ll be wiring about it!
The PGA Merchandise Show is from January 21st to the 23rd.

The Golf Club, a video game by HB Studios looks to make a name for itself among the sports gaming community and so far it’s been looking great. I had a chance to check out the game thanks to the game being available via Steam’s Early Access.
I will say first hand that the game is fantastic and it hasn’t even released yet. The Greg Norman Course Designer is a major selling point. The gameplay and golf swing mechanics are very smooth and realistic and the sounds are absolutely superb.
The overall quality of the audio made me jump out my seat a bit. It really does sound like you’re out on the golf course with the sounds of wildlife right in your ear while playing on your new beautifully designed golf course.
John, the commentator (Who you can follow on Twitter @NewVoiceofGolf) is great. He sounds realistic and not robotic at all and it feels like he’s right there with you! No joke, I was looking around my room when I first heard him speak.
I was about go all ninja and stuff! He’s great and some of the most realistic sports game commentary I’ve heard. The best thing is? The game will be continuously updated so there will likely be more speech, game modes, etc added.
Yup, that’s right. Not a yearly release! That’s a fantastic way to go with sports games as many fans were wondering why nobody has done this. HB Studios knows what’s up! Now, let me get to the crown jewel of the game that is the Greg Norman Course Designer.
The possibilities are ENDLESS with this amazing mode. You can sculpt the greens, bunkers, or even the land around you and HB’s official course in the game called Knoll Down Golf Club provides an excellent example of this as the surrounding land is very hilly.
You can add everything from the clubhouse to trees and plants to even animals and vehicles and yes you can put them wherever you want….even the fairways and greens (OBSTACLESSSS! Kidding!)!
There are four themes to pick from right now (Rural, Alpine, Autumn and Desert) with a Links theme coming during the full release of the game which is my personal favorite theme without a doubt (When you play the game, in the course selection, search “Kings Island” and there will be two courses that are links style)! The course customization is so deep already that you can create your own fairways anyway you like with the power of the “Create Surfaces” tool.
You can add new designs to greens and fairways to give them unique looks and you can even choose what time of day you want your course to be in or even what side of the sky you want the sun to be on. Probably the most powerful thing about the Greg Norman Course Designer, and this is probably the star of the entire game, is the course generator.
This feature within the course designer is an absolute gem in gaming. It’s the first thing you’ll notice as soon as you fire up the course designer. All you do is select the theme you want, then there will be a screen with three wheels.
One wheel shows “trees”, one shows “water”, and the other shows “hills”. You rotate the wheel on each of these so the designer can know how many trees, how much water, and how many hills you want on your course. Once you do that, select how many holes you want, your selected difficulty for the course and then give it a name.
Then BOOM! A brand new, beautifully designed, never before seen golf course is created for you. Now it’s up to you if you just want to publish it to the world or tweak it a bit. This powerful feature is unbelievable.
You can literally design a course in seconds! This is great for people who don’t have a whole lot of time for full designing and just want to have a beautiful golf course for other virtual golfers to play. Below is a video I created showcasing a small sample size of gameplay and the power of the Greg Norman Course Designer’s course generator.
You’ll likely be able to grab your copy of The Golf Club on August 25th when the game will feature an even more richer golf experience. In the meantime, you can download the Steam Early Access version here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/269730/
Also, your computer needs to be DirectX 11 compatible for play. I recommend the Lenovo Y510p or Y410p laptops if your computer isn’t DirectX 11 compatible. I use the Y510 and it’s fantastic!
So make sure you leave your comments below because I would LOVE to hear them! Also, be sure to follow me on Twitter @ChiGolfRadio because I have things to say about golf and things and stuff and things….things….

This is TOO funny! Remember the epic EA Sports PGA Tour trailer I showed you? Well, HB Studios who is in the middle of completing The Golf Club, decided to poke fun at EA’s golf title. This has become their official trailer at major video game convention, E3 and it is brilliant and hysterical. If you don’t laugh at the video then I have to question your humor (Hmmm?). First, for those of you who haven’t seen the EA Sports PGA Tour trailer, here it is.
Looks pretty cool right?
Well, HB fired back with authority and came up with a very memorable sports video game trailer in terms of its humor, simplicity and then they show off the beauty of the game as well. Hold on to your spleens! I’m not cleaning for you!
This is going to be a TERRIFIC 2014/2015 for golf gamers everywhere. Get ready!

The Golf Club, the new video game from Canadian game developer HB Studios has already received and impressive score although it hasn’t been released yet and no, Tiger Woods isn’t in the game nor is any other PGA or LPGA Tour golfer but that doesn’t stop golf game fans from giving it a terrific hype score of 9 out of 10. Yup, that’s right, a near perfect score. Although the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series has had an impressive run of scores at 9 out of 10 over the past few years but what makes this score particularly remarkable is for one, it doesn’t bear Tiger Woods’ name on it, secondly, it’s being developed by a company that isn’t EA or 2K Sports but HB Studios and from what I heard, there are only 10 to 15 people working on this game and they already managed to create the holy grail of golf video game features in a course designer feature where players can create any course to their heart’s desire whether it’s Augusta National, Cypress Point or Pine Valley, gamers everywhere can create any course they want, including their home course (Randall Oaks Golf Club in the Chi, what up!). The amazing thing is, it took HB only a month to put this game changing feature in there according to their developer diary.
I mentioned in a recent article about the game that with a huge feature like that and smooth gameplay, The Golf Club in my eyes, will be a Sports Game of the Year nominee. Probably won’t win considering the fact that it would be going up against the likes of NBA 2K and Fifa but a nomination at least by one or two publications would be a major accomplishment. The only thing that may be a little weird for virtual golfers who tee it up in this game is that there is no broadcast presentation. The focus of the game is supposed to basically be in the shoes a golfer who’s playing a round with his or buddies. Just a typical round of golf…only with super mega awesome epic core creating abilities! Regardless of not having a broadcast presentation, the game still looks spectacular. Probably the best thing about The Golf Club and I mentioned this before, is the fact that HB Studios will do continuous updates on the game instead of having yearly releases and this is something that many sports fans have asked for is to have updates on games and just have bi annual releases instead of yearly ones due to some of the many bugs some sports games carry especially Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, although it’s a fun game, it’s filled with bugs and was only updated once.
Not to mention, these updates that HB Studios is talking about are not just going to be run of the mill updates from what I’ve heard. These updates could include new on course visuals, new tools for the course creator or even new game modes (Wouldn’t that be something?). I was so impressed with what I’ve seen so far from the game, that I have The Golf Club logo featured as the cover photo on the GP Golf Report Facebook page as some of you might have seen already. There’s no specifics on a release date yet but we do know that it’s during the spring so it very well could be an April or May release. There’s also a nice interview Operation Sports did The Golf Club’s Executive Producer, Peter Garcian. How good could this game be? Or will it fall? It’s all in HB’s hands after EA’s golf series took the year off, they just have to deliver a great golf experience for all. As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below! Would love to hear from you!

As we all know, Tiger Woods is no longer the cover boy for the EA Sports’ golfing franchise and left many of us asking the question, what’s next? Well, I did some digging around and it looks like Ian Poulter is a possible candidate as the new poster child of the legendary golf video game. There was a tweet all the way back from August that Poulter sent that went as follows: “Doing a little work for @EAsportsgolf this morning.” Although the tweet is old, I haven’t seen any other articles written about it and it could possibly hint that Ian could be the next cover boy for the game unless it’s just regular work. But if it was just regular work then why are they working so closely with him two years prior to the new game? That could be a sign because I’d think they’d be working with the cover athletes the most since they’re the stars of the game.
If this is true then I think Ian’s a solid choice since he’s a great competitor and he’s fantastic with the Ryder Cup which is arguably the biggest golf tournament in the world. Yes, not everyone likes Poulter but his competitiveness is fitting with the game and may possibly mean an inclusion of the European Tour as well as Poulter has those connections. So, is Ian Poulter going take the throne from the almighty Tiger Woods? What features would the new game have? I think it would be pretty cool seeing the home courses of some of the top players featured in the game or seeing Pine Valley and Cypress Point in there for the first time. Or neither, just have a course creator and that’ll be the icing on the cake alone! So, what do you think of the possibility of Ian Poulter being the new cover boy for the popular golf video game? As always, let me know in the comments section!

The ending relationship between EA Sports and Tiger Woods is getting “spicy” now. Now it appears that Tiger won’t even be in the game at all which is both a surprise and not a surprise because I think if you take his name off the cover and he “ended” the relationship then in the gaming world that usually means that the player won’t be in there at all. So to me it doesn’t come as much as surprise to me but to others it might. You see, when a player has an agreement with a gaming company and that agreement ends then the player shouldn’t be in the game at all. That’s kind of how it’s always been but according to Tiger’s agent Mark Steinberg says that they’re looking at other companies to get Tiger in a video game according to Eye on Golf. The most interesting thing about this is what Steinberg said when he said they’re looking at other companies because what other companies would Tiger and crew be willing to work with? Would they be willing to work with a small time developer? If so then who would it be?
Major options include juggernauts like 2K Sports, Konami who has experience with sports games creating Pro Evolution Soccer or full on electronic companies like Microsoft and Sony who have made sports games before such as the “Links” series by Microsoft and the “MLB The Show” series by Sony but then that would mean that the game would exclusively be for the PS4 or exclusively for the Xbox One that could rub golf gamers the wrong way. You would want to join a company that will sell your product on both consoles and something that will make everyone happy. The obvious guess would e that Tiger joins 2K Sports who arguably have the highest rated sports series of all-time with the NBA 2K series which seems to get better and better each year. I’d have to agree if Tiger decides to join 2K because this is a great opportunity for the company and they would be pretty silly to turn down an offer plus this will give fans who have been praying for a 2K golf game the opportunity to play their dream game in real life. This would be both an obvious and excellent choice as I must say that 2K has put together some amazing gameplay over the years.
The game’s are always so realistic and all the motions are so real and were beyond their years and now they’re taking it to the next level. As I’ve mentioned in previous articles, a golf game would be absolutely perfect for 2K Sports and what better name to have on there than Tiger Woods? This would be a historic step for a gaming company that blossomed with practically one game left in their arsenal that literally beats out the competition each year (NBA 2K). This was the same company that EA Sports nearly bought for a little over a billion dollars but with the power of NBA 2K the company remains independent and that’s incredible how they carried that one game to glory since the loss of its many other great games like College Hoops 2K and the heavily popular NFL 2K series. Golf gamers have been hoping for a 2K golf game since the departure of the for mentioned “Links” series which last released a game back in 2004.
Could this finally be the moment many golf gaming fans have been waiting for? Is EA going to regret the move or will they stride nonetheless? Stay tuned on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z: Golf Game Edition! All kidding aside, this is very exciting and will get conversations going in a hurry. 2K, wherever you are, here’s your chance, take advantage of it. It would be a huge head scratcher if it never happened unless A) Tiger never makes a choice or B) There may have been an agreement issue or something like that. Other than that the door is wide open for them because they are the only other major sports game company out there and after the critically acclaimed success of the NBA 2K series, why wouldn’t he want to jump on board the 2K cruise line? Only time will tell however but this means there could be a huge change in golf gaming with EA not having Tiger in the game anymore, HB Studios putting out a golf game for the PS4 and Xbox One, and now who else could get in on the action? 2K? Sony? Microsoft? Very exciting stuff to look forward to and what better way to have awesome golf gaming news to talk about then around the holiday season? So, who do YOU think will Tiger sign with, if anybody? Also, if tiger were to sign with another company, what main feature would you want to see in the game? Let me know in the comments below!

Well, it looks like Tiger Woods and gaming juggernaut EA Sports have ended their relationship as EA looks to move on in a different direction putting Tiger in the rear view mirror. This is a very interesting time for EA to do such a thing since they have announced to postpone releasing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 15 to work on the development of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 16 which has been confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One barring they resemble the last couple of nightmarish postpones that the NBA Live series went through. Woods has been the the feature star of the iconic video game since EA brought him on board of the virtual golf cruise ship back in 1998-99. It has featured some of golf’s biggest stars and legends such as John Daly, Rory Mcilroy, Anthony Kim, Vijay Singh, Bobby Jones, Old Tom Morris, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, etc. There have also been some of golf’s most legendary golf courses in the game such as the ever beautiful Spyglass Hill which was the first real golf course to be featured in the game until it’s sister course, the iconic Pebble Beach and St.Andrews followed shortly after. The game has featured many fun and interesting things during the time of it’s early years such as exciting mini games and goofy fantasy characters.
There have also been some very interesting fantasy courses that were a lot of fun and EA looks to continue those into the next generation of gaming consoles. Even the music had more variety as there songs by artists such as hip hop legends DMX and Nelly which personally I thought was real cool and made the game much more appealing. From 2006 onward, the game seemed to drop slowly in sales until Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 released which garnered tons of sales despite the many complaints of bugs and glitches. To this date however, it was Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 that seemed to have the most positive responses despite not selling the same amount of copies as Tiger Woods 08 did. Many people still choose Tiger Woods 2004 for the most part though as it was arguably the most feature rich game of the series. Eventually in 2011-2012, the game featured the Holy Grail of golf video games with the Masters tournament and Augusta National being featured in the game for the first time in golf game history. Regardless of the addition of Augusta, there have been complaints of bugs in the latest addition of the game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 which is the third straight installment in which Augusta has been featured in.
Many fans have also taken to the forums with their suggestions and complaints in order to try to improve the game. Is the steady decline caused by EA focusing a little too much on Tiger rather than the game itself? In some cases, it’s possibly true, and this is why it’s such a huge story. Not only is EA taking a year off to get it’s game ready for the PS4 and Xbox One, but they get rid of their cover star. Could this help EA improve the game and get more fans? It’s very possible because now, since Woods is gone, they can focus on the core gameplay rather than Woods and that will be huge. Not to mention, the PS4 and Xbox One will be a year old by the time the game releases, so they’ll already be more familiar with the software of the console to try to make a great game. Rumors say that the game will have “more customization” and that could possibly mean a course creator which EA’s sometimes partner in crime, HB Studios is working on their own golf game which will indeed include a course creator and will also be featured on the next gen consoles but will release much sooner unless further notice.
This all could mean a lot for golf games because this gives other companies like 2K Sports to really come out and create a great game. A company like Sony who created the very popular MLB The Show series can also step up to the first tee on the virtual golf course. That’s what makes this an exciting story, because I believe that a lot of companies were afraid to tee it up because EA had the power of the “Tiger”. But now that that reign is over, this is a chance for other companies to come out of hiding to start developing golf games. This would be great for golf promotion and golf gaming because it’s hard to promote golf through video games when there’s only one main golf game on the market.
So overall I think this the big step in the right direction if you’re a golf fan who loves golf games. Also, with golf being in the Olympics for 2016, this could possibly mean the addition of some kind of Olympic mode in the game, you just never know. Here’s a link to what EA had to say: http://www.easports.com/tiger-woods/news-updates-gameplay/article/next-gen-golf-statement?sf18842758=1 There’s supposed to be more info on the new Tiger Woods game coming out soon so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe to the GP Golf Report to receive more news and opinions from around the great game of golf.
