The Prairie Club has become one of the very best public golf courses in the country. Located in Nebraska, it has joined legendary courses such as Sand Hills and Wild Horse as tops in the state.
One of coolest things about TPC is that it features an awesome short course called “The Horse Course”. The 10-hole par-3 track was designed by Gil Hanse and Geoff Shackelford and has been an instant hit since it opened.
The fascinating thing about the course is that there are no tee boxes. This is because you can play the game of “H-O-R-S-E” hence the name of the course. Without any tee boxes, you and a friend can flip a coin, play rock, paper, scissors, etc to decide where to tee off.
This implements fun into golf in a whole new way. Not only that, being a par-3 course, you get to experience an exciting layout that affordable and less time-consuming.
Even if you’re playing solo, having no tee boxes gives you the chance to tackle each hole from numerous spots. It’s golf without limits so you can tee it up from anywhere and aim for any hole.
The contouring of the greens are outstanding and the bunkers beautifully placed. On top of that, the course can be enjoyed while taking in the lovely classic Nebraska scenery.
What makes The Horse Course a game changer in golf is that it takes the simple principles that make a sport like basketball so beloved, and they are implemented in the course. Basketball and soccer are so wildly popular because they are extremely accessible and affordable to play.
The Horse Course scratches off all of the boxes like most par-3 courses, except you can get ridiculously creative with how you play. It’s a testament to golf’s incredible versatility, and Hanse and Shackelford nailed it with this design.
The Horse Course is not only one of the best short courses in the United States, but one of the best in the world. It’s a course that can have a lasting impact on the sport forever. Grab your irons and wedges, it’s time to play.

— Tiger Woods (@TigerWoods) October 7, 2017
“Tiger Tiger Woods Y’all!”. Yup, Mr. Woods is at it again, and this time, he’s taking full swings out on the golf course.
Yup, so if you’re anxious for the return of the 14-time major champ, this will likely make your day. In his first Twitter clip, we saw him hitting a chip shot rocking a sleeveless shirt and some Oakland Raiders shorts.
This one is the whole enchilada. So now, we saw his short game and his iron game. It looks like a return to the game is looking brighter so if you’re a Tiger fan, you should be pleased.
How will he play if he returns? Who knows, certainly the aftermath of injuries can still haunt him. Now, he has to go against the golf club wielding samurais known as Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
This doesn’t include the aging, but still very good Dustin Johnson, as well as the deadly Hideki Matsuyama among others. And now, we have yet another star on the rise in Xander Schaufele.
In short, it will be an uphill battle, but it just adds to the fun seeing a legend out there.
We still have current greats out there such as Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson, Zach Johnson and Justin Rose. Adding Tiger to the mix would make for a tasty blend of young stars and legends of the game.
Sounds like fun doesn’t it? It’ll be interesting to see how Woods progresses.

The U.S. team defeated the International team in dominating fashion at the President’s Cup at Liberty National Golf Club. In the end, they celebrated one of the most lopsided victories in sports history.
This included Charley Hoffman smoking a cigar like a boss, Dustin Johnson dancing, and an epic press conference. This press conference may be the greatest in the history of golf.
This isn’t just a golf writer overreacting, this presser was genuinely hilarious. You can watch the full conference above, but here are some of the awesome highlights.
Players were singing some of their favorite songs chanted by fans. Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson had fun with a “track” that was created for Si Woo Kim.
Si Woo didn’t “shake that thang” but he did do the “Patrick Reed Shush” on Sunday. Despite being down by a lot, I still thought he did it better. Kim I felt did it with a little mor swagger than Reed, but hey, that’s jsut me.
— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) October 1, 2017
Back to the “press conference”, Dustin Johnson is recorded doing the “Si Woo dance”.
But wait. It gets even better. pic.twitter.com/9A0dB3zvpB
— Skratch (@Skratch) October 1, 2017
And let’s finish things off with probably my favorite; Matt Kuchar teasing Phil Mickelson.
So there you have it! A dominating performance by the American team ends with one of the best press conferences you’ll ever see.
As we sunset the President’s Cup, let’s look forward to the Ryder Cup at Le National Golf Club in 2018. There’s nothing like team golf, and we already know the Ryder Cup will be super dope.

Minigolf games are among the most fun to play in the world of video games. Zen Studios nailed the experience with Infinite Minigolf, a fun, and addicting experience with the putter.
Zen Studios is more noted for their pinball games, but they’ve also created quite a minigolf game with Planet Minigolf which was available on previous generation consoles. Now, the sequel/spinoff for the game is out, titled Infinite Minigolf, and it has a familiar gameplay style to that, of Planet Minigolf.
Immediately, you’ll notice a simplified main menu which gives you the option to play solo, play online, and customize your character (which we’ll get to). If you choose Solo Play, then you’ll have your choice of three locations: Giant Home, Nightmare Mansion, and Santa’s Factory.
This is where you can choose what to do. If you pick Quick Play, you’ll be dropped onto the tee of a hole at your selected location.
Here’s the awesome part though, in Infinite Minigolf, you can design your own holes. So when you choose Quick Play, you’re automatically playing on a random hole created by another user.
This is an awesome way to enjoy a quick play mode in a sports game. No two holes are alike, so you’ll never know what awaits you on the next tee.
Best of all, you can continue to play as long as you want. There’s no limit of nine or 18 holes.
Want to play three holes? Go ahead. Want to get all PGA Tourish and go 72? Knock yourself out.
Also, you won’t be running out of holes to play anytime soon, as there are over 11,000 holes built as this piece is being written. No doubt that this number will continue to grow.
With this many holes, the replay value is very high.
The gameplay is very smooth with a very solid putting stroke animation, as well as its ability to test your timing and power judgment. The ball physics are excellent, as the ball rolls as smooth as you’d see in real life.
Power-ups return in the game, bringing the extra fun and strategy to each round you play. And playing on so many different hole designs, the imagination can run wild.
As you play, you can unlock cards based on how you played. These cards are the game’s currency and your ticket to new gear.
In most packs, you receive two cards. Each card will show a silhouette of the item you can get.
If it’s the silhouette of a shirt, and there’s a number “2” below it, this means you’ve earned two cards you can use towards the purchase of shirts for your golfer. Birdies, eagles, and aces can help you net cards on the course.
Off the course, you can buy packs with gold coins that you can earn on the course by completing challenges. That can be reaching a certain score by the end of a hole or using a certain power-up during a round.
Even purchasing a new item can you earn you some coins. You receive 100 coins each time you complete a challenge.
Once you’ve got enough coin, you can choose between three packs in the store. One pack being 500 coins, while the others are 1,000 and 2,000 respectively.
The most expensive pack guarantees you an avatar item that can be worn or used immediately. This one top of four cards, you get as well.
You can also play in tournaments, which serves as the career mode for Infinite Minigolf. You play nine-hole rounds in the three locations.
There are four bosses for each location. However, you do not play against them, you are tackling the courses they built, as you battle against three other CPU avatars.
Each boss has three courses, starting off on “casual”. In order to unlock normal and hard difficulties, you must complete the casual tourneys.
It’s a fun and simple career mode that can really help you rack in some coins and cards. The tournaments also play as sort of a metaphor for traditional golf in that, you’re dancing with the courses, which means you are in a boss battle with the designers.
That’s the case in Infinite Minigolf as well.
Customization is the juice of the game and is what makes it so fun. You can choose between a male or female character and change their looks any way you like, from shirts and hats to hairstyles and shades, you can really style your golfer out.
You can also change your putter and golf ball as well. One of the cool things that I liked is that most of the putters that you can use are replicas of traditional golf putters.
So if you want a little pro golf flare, you can use one of the dope PGA Tour style sticks. If you want to change things up, you can unlock some specially themed putters. These can be a classic, pixelated putter, a cane, or even a hockey stick.
With a ton of fun customization options, it makes you eager to earn some more cards to unlock everything. This will also require you to level up, which you can do as you continue to play the game.
The course creator is full of great ways to put your armchair architect skills to the test. You can get creative in so many ways, because, you can do more than place your routing and add power-ups to the mix.
You can even add certain transportation methods to help you get to the hole after a perfectly hit shot. You can even place a drone to send balls to different locations on the hole when hitting to the drone’s starting spot.
Having played several holes, there are definitely some incredible holes designed by the community. It’s this creativity that helps give a game great longevity, and Infinite Minigolf does a great job in this department.
Online play features several modes. You can either play for fun or play competitively like in most games.
You can play in online tournaments both for fun or for competition, which takes four to eight players to play. If you just want a good ol’ fashion duel, you play one vs. one or you can have a classic foursome as well as Hole or Nothing which also requires four players.
If you want a date with madness, you do a “Crazy” round which is eight players in a non-tournament setting. Overall, the online has a fairly solid amount of options for every type of golfer.
The one flaw, the game does have is the lack of locations. Certainly, the 11,000 plus holes help keep the game fresh, but seeing the same scenery between three locations can get a little tiresome after a while.
That said, most smaller titles do an excellent job of staying fresh with new content. So, I’m confident that we’ll see more locations in the near future, to add to the experience.
As a whole, Infinite Minigolf does a great job of receiving the torch that was passed down by Planet Minigolf which was a ton of fun to play. The new game is more personalized with better golfer customization options and even more wacky course design features.
All of this while still keeping the quality gameplay that PM had. From fun cartoonish graphics to solid animations to great ball physics, Infinite Minigolf is a winner for next-generation mini golf games.
Final Score: 8.5/10

It’s an exciting time for golf as the President’s Cup is here again. However, some alarming news may have overshadowed the colorful team event as it relates to Tiger Woods, who is an assistant captain for team USA.
On Wednesday, when asked if he could visualize a scenario where he may never play competitive golf again, Woods gave a quick but surprising answer.
“Yeah, definitely,” Woods said according to Golf Digest. “I don’t know what my future holds for me”.
However, before the answer, Woods did mention some positive things. He mentioned that he was “feeling great” and “hitting the ball really straight” according to the Golf Digest.
So there are positives for Woods fans to come away with. However, his “yeah, definitely” response may make some fans gulp hard in fear.
If the end is truly near, then there’s plenty of reason to still be excited about Woods’ future. He has been quickly making a name for himself as a golf course designer so although he may not be dazzling fans with amazing putts anymore, he can delight fans with some artistic course designs.
My only hope is that he makes most of his courses public throughout his career. There are far too many private clubs and to have a couple of quality public courses designed by one of golf’s greatest “course readers” would be a treat for all.
Not only this, but Woods can become a great captain in future team events for the American team. He’s a “player’s player” so his team would rally behind him easily.
So, it’s not all doom and gloom Tiger fans. Besides, he still could return to play anyway. Just know it could be some time before he makes that return.
In the meantime, it’s cool to see him out there as an assistant captain at the President’s Cup. Lead captain Steve Stricker looks to help carry the American squad to their 11th President’s Cup title.

1 hour 29 min
— Wesley Bryan (@wesleybryangolf) September 17, 2017
Wesley Bryan is a man known for his amazing trick shot abilities as one-half of the Bryan Bros duo. He’s also a winner on the PGA Tour winning the RBC Heritage but now, his tricky skills have come back into the spotlight.
During the final round of the BMW Championship, Bryan blazed through Conway Farms, completing his 18-hole round in one hour and 29 minutes (!!). He can be seen jogging around the course and his caddie would just toss him clubs to swing instead of Bryan going through the bag himself.
He was playing solo too, which is a reason why he was able to accomplish this. Probably the most amazing thing is, he shot a 69 even after going that fast.
An average 18 hole round would normally take four to five hours. Bryan just sliced that number up with a double-edged sword.
There is an actual variation of the sport, called “Speed Golf”. Maybe it’s time to sign Bryan up for a speed golf tournament?

Unorthodox swings are a common thing in golf, and in a way, adds to the charm of the sport. No two swings are alike.
One woman takes that to heart, with a swing that is very unusual, yet effective and powerful. Web.com Tour pro Steve Wheatcroft caught the moment and shared it on Twitter during the Albertson Boise Open Pro-Am.
She brings her back foot back on her backswing (say that fast three times) like she’s winding up. She keeps that foot back there on her follow through, as she extends her hands forward as if she’s reaching for the ball. She connects and hits a beautiful shot.
The ball would go well over 200 yards. This showcases the power of this unique swing.
There are many golfers who have had success with their own, self-taught swings. Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson is the most popular name that comes to mind.
No doubt that if she participates in any more tournaments, she’ll definitely get some extra attention from competitors and any spectators. Swings like this is a great example of how unique golf is because everything is different, whether it’s swings, courses, clothing, etc, every aspect is unique in its own way.
Go get it, girl.

The golf ball market has become a giant, with millions of dollars spent on golf balls each year. There are a ton of exciting new brands that continue to pop up across the golf landscape, and one of those is Snell.
Snell is a brand that has continued to grow in popularity since it started in 2015. Dean Snell, the company’s Founder, is no stranger when it comes to high-quality golf balls, as he is the co-inventor of the iconic Pro V1 golf balls by Titleist.
The goal of Snell is simple, and that’s to create a professional quality golf ball for amateurs to use for a great price.
I had a chance to try out the “My Tour Ball” at my home course of Randall Oaks, and will immediately say that it’s one of the best golf balls out there. It’s especially impressive around the greens on the chip and pitch shots.
It doesn’t roll hard, and when you hit a clean shot, it’ll plant itself where you want it. Almost like a heat-seeking missile. It feels great from the tee as well, because when you hit a good shot, you know it, and the Snell ball gives you a boost of confidence on the next shot.
It’s one of the softest golf balls in the sport, making you an instant threat to hit it close from right off the greens. As we know, short game is crucial to the success of anyone’s game, and the Snell balls are tops in this area.
On the green, the ball rolls smoothly, and bounces off the club face beautifully. The perfect align tool on the ball definitely helps you drop some putts.
All in all, the Snell My Tour Ball is the secret weapon in golf ball technology. It’s one of the best balls you’ll play with, and at an affordable price which is refreshing in a sport noted for expensive equipment.
Finally, one of the nice things about the Snell brand is that they do a good job of appealing to the generation of golfers. These aren’t the golf balls of yesteryear, they’re the balls of the future.
You can learn more about the Snell brand and their golf balls at SnellGolf.com.

The BMW Championship is this week right here in Chicagoland. The FedEx Cup Playoffs have risen in popularity and the BMW Championship may be the most important tournament of the playoff season.
The FedEx Cup Playoffs are in full swing and this has been the most exciting year to date. First, it was the Northern Trust Open where we saw one of the best finishes in FedEx Cup history, with Dustin Johnson holding off Jordan Spieth to win.
Then, at the Dell Championship, it was PGA Champion Justin Thomas who grabbed his fifth win of the season, holding off the aforementioned Spieth by three shots. Now, we come to the BMW Championship, one of the oldest and most iconic tournaments on the PGA Tour.
With the tournament returning to Conway Farms, it will undoubtedly be another doozy. Dustin Johnson pulled it off last year, can he pull it off again as he builds his Hall of Fame resume?
It’s anybody’s guess and with golf’s roster of talent deepening, the BW Championship is up for grabs. However, these top betting site picks for golf have Spieth as the top dog at Conway Farms and rightfully so considering that he finished in the top five in the last two tournaments. Johnson is the favorite going into the 2018 Masters Tournament, however, where he can grab his second major.
Spieth still is also the best putter on the planet. Certainly, players like Johnson and Thomas are threats off the tee, but Spieth can crush courses with his legendary putting.
The reason why the BMW Championship is so important on the PGA Tour schedule because of the smaller field, and because of where you go next, after winning which is the Tour Championship at East Lake. All the tournaments in the FedEx Cup Playoffs are crucial, but the BMW gives players that added pressure because they know what’s on the line.
One of the best and toughest golf States in the country, Illinois will prove yet again to be a great test of golf for the pros. Long at the iconic Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, the BMW has had a nice little run at Conway Farms.
Not only that, the BMW will be returning to its founding State, yet again in 2019 at the legendary Medinah Country Club. So one of the coolest golf destinations in the country will be on full display for years to come, and it makes for an epic semi-final host.
At the end of the day, the Tour Championship is still king at East Lake, under the shadow of Atlanta and under the watchful eye of the ghost of Bobby Jones. However, with the BMW Championship being one of the oldest events on the PGA Tour, being created in 1899 (it was the Western Open until the name changed in 2007), and with the top 70 players eager to duke it out, it could be the most important tournament in the playoffs.
With the rich blend of new and veteran talent, the BMW will be more exciting than ever as the FedEx Cup legend grows. It’s going to be a wild finish to the playoffs so hold on to your hats, visors, fedora and anything else you put on your head.

— Justin Thomas (@JustinThomas34) September 7, 2017
Justin Thomas is having the best year of his life playing golf, winning five times, shooting a 59 and winning his first major title at the PGA Championship. He may also grab the Player of the Year award, but he can also grab the Swaggiest Golfer of the Year award too (yes, I made that up), thanks to his cool new shoes that he will rock at the President’s Cup.
Michelle Wie, one of golf’s biggest characters, gave the red hot kicks to Thomas as a gift. This is fitting since Thomas is slowly, but surely becoming more known for his style of dress, similarly to Rickie Fowler is golf’s go-to guy in the fashion department.
In particular, Thomas wore a cardigan at The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, which was a cool way to give a nod to the golfers of yesteryear. There’s no other major that contributes to the history of the game like The Open as we know, which will soon be the final major of the year, starting in 2019.
Bravo to Michelle Wie. If there’s a girl who has a little swagger in golf, it’s Wie, and she delivered (literally) some dope kicks to Thomas. Get ready to witness all the country colors at the President’s Cup, under the watchful eye of the Statue Liberty.
With both team USA and International team rosters loaded with talent, this one should be a straight up doozy. Prepare for battle.
