When we think of one of the wildest golf swings on earth, one of the first names we think of is NBA legend, Charles Barkley. This time though, it’s a slightly different ball game, as he has an improved swing with a unique technique.
Charles Barkley was one of the most dominant players in NBA history, known for his rebounding and scoring. However, the sport of golf hasn’t been kind to Sir Charles, as he had one of the craziest swings in the game’s history.
Now, going with a unique cross-handed swing, it’s much smoother, and without the infamous pause on his downswing. Barkley’s old swing was so famous, there’s a clip on YouTube that has reached over 900,000 views. It was a swing that shocked many golf and sports fans.
Although his new swing might look odd, due to it being cross-handed, it still looks good enough to get the job done. As the great Arnold Palmer once said, “swing your swing”.
There is no proper way to swing a club. It’s whatever you feel most comfortable with, and Barkley has found it. Way to go, Chuck.

. I have so many questions to ask him. The first one is why? What’s the urgency? Did you forget your normal pair of shoes? pic.twitter.com/54apY7OoH0

There are plenty of ways to kill time at an airport while awaiting your flight. You can mess around on your phone, read a book, eat some grub, or you can work on your golf game.
Huh? Work on your golf game?
That’s what one traveler did, as he was chilling at an airport in Scotland. He decided to do a little putting around, as he clearly is looking forward to the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
There are actually a couple of airports that feature putting greens, such as Palm Beach International Airport. The Palm Beach spot is home to an eight hole green.
The fact that this dude decided to putt it on the solid airport floor is awesome. Not to get too deep but, one of the dope things about golf is that you can play it virtually anywhere.
It’s obvious that you aren’t going to hit drives or your 9-iron at the airport. But, the one aspect of the game you can safely enjoy, is putting. All you’re doing is rolling a ball, that’s all.
It just continues to prove my point that golf is the most versatile sport on earth. You can play at the airport, your house, the beach, the city, the mountains, abandoned locations (although much riskier), etc. Heck, you can even play it on a golf course. who knew?
So, all I have to say to this gentleman, is, keep doing you, man. One of the few ways we can make golf cool again is by taking the sport where people least expect it. That includes an airport baggage claim.
Be sure to follow me on Twitter @ChiGolfRadio! If it’s golf, or anything related to the “cooler” side of golf, I’m tweeting it, retweeting it, etc! If you see a dude wearing a dark blue fedora hitting putts on the green at the Palm Beach International Airport then it’s probably me! Or not….

It's been an emotional journey for @ChessonHadley.
— Web.com Tour (@WebDotComTour) July 9, 2017
Chesson Hadley was one of the hot young players coming onto the PGA Tour in 2014. He didn’t disappoint either, winning his first tournament on tour that year, netting him the Rookie of the Year award.
Since then, Hadley has quietly fallen off the map, but some great play on the always competitive Web.com Tour led him to get his third win on the tour defeating former University of Texas star, Beau Hossler. Now, after his victory, he has regained him PGA Tour status, earning his card once again.
The emotion clearly got to Hadley, as he cried into his hat. Moments like this makes you want to give a round of applause.
You worked so hard to make it the PGA Tour the first time, and played well. But then, some struggles led you back to the Web.com Tour, one of the most ferocious tours in all of golf with its rich depth of hungry young golfers.
After his win at the LECOM Health Challenge, Hadley can safely press the refresh button on his career. With a tour card back into his inventory, this gives him opportunities to potentially capture a major championship.
His best finish was a tie for 61st at the 2015 PGA Championship. His only other major appearance was at the 2014 Open Championship where he missed the cut.
With him being on the PGA Tour again, he’ll not only have a chance to redeem himself at those majors, but can also try his hand at the Masters and U.S. Open.
For now, there’s no doubt that Hadley is feeling a sigh of relief.

If you’re excited that it’s Friday, here’s a video that’ll make your day even brighter. Two children tried to recreate the now famous celebration between Jordan Spieth and caddie Michael Greller, after their thrilling win at the Travelers Championship. In case you were wondering, Spieth defeated Daniel Berger with a hole out from a greenside bunker in a playoff.
The kids failed but it was too cute to even matter, as hats were being thrown as the two boys celebrated their own PGA Tour victory. The trophy they won? Everybody’s hearts.
Oh, and the tackle at the end? Priceless. Happy Friday!

It was a terrific bunker shot by Jordan Spieth. But, the reason why it was the shot of the year, was the fact that it was done in a playoff, to win.
When it seemed like it was going to be a duel between Spieth and Daniel Berger, the playoff almost abruptly after the clutch hole-out by Spieth. Berger had a putt to tie, but just missed it, making Spieth the youngest player since Tiger Woods to get his first 10 wins on the PGA Tour.
This, and of course he has the two majors at the Masters and U.S. Open. mind you, when many fans, myself included, say Jordan’s shot was the best of the year, we’re excluding the majors, and are only talking about on the PGA Tour.
Because as we know, many will be quick to point out better shots at the majors. Certainly a couple of shots come to mind, is Justin Thomas’ incredible approach shot with a 3-wood at Erin Hills during the U.S. Open.
Another would be Sergio Garcia’s amazing putt on 15 at the Masters. Brooks Koepka’s string of long range putts at the U.S. Open also could make the list.
However, on the Tour schedule, this was clearly the best. Not only that, under the circumstances, it could rival that of the shots at the majors.
In a playoff, you’re in the bunker, in jepordy of possibly losing the title after having the lead all week, and you drill it. At one the PGA Tour’s most popular tournaments as well, mind you.
Well played Jordan. Also a tip of the cap to Dan Berger, he played great, and has had a very nice season.
Now go to beach and work on your bunker shots. Sand castle builders, you have been warned.

The awesome thing about golf is the selection of beautiful golf courses. Erin Hills, which hosted the U.S. Open this week, is just as pretty as any.
The official Erin Hills YouTube channel features multiple drone clips of each hole. Each one is breathtaking so take a look at three of them, as you can feel the wind being taking away from you.
Let’s start with the famous, and stunning ninth hole. It was once just an “extra” hole, but was put into the course routing, and what a brilliant idea that was.
Next we flap our wings and fly over one of the most uniqe holes on the course, the 12th. Although this hole only has one bunker on it, it is still one of the toughest, with a fairway that can throw you off your game. This may be the only hole in all of golf where the fairway can play as a hazard at times.
Finally, let’s take a look at the sun soaked, picturesque 18th hole. This hole features the beautiful clubhouse in the background, while the legendary Holy Hill looks down on those who walk the track. A great way to finish a round on this public gem.
So if you ever wanted to see the 2017 U.S. Open course from a different perspective, then there you go. Paul Hundley is the man responsible for these amazing flyovers.
Take them in, and after doing that, go visit Erin Hills and tee it up. I can’t stress enough that this course is open to the public, so you can step on a piece of U.S. Open history.
It’s a course that will host many majors in the future. Would love to see it host some PGA Championships as its well deserved. Bravo, Erin Hills.

There isn’t much that can be said about Erin Hills’ rough other than it’s similar to that of a small jungle which makes things interesting.
Erin Hills will be the host of the U.S. Open this week, as it will be the first time that the course has ever hosted a major or any professional tournament for that matter. As the U.S. Open is famous for, it will provide a tough challenge for the world’s best players, and Kevin Na showed how menacing the course can be.
In the video, Na is trying to hit his ball out of the mini jungle of rough. As he does, he can hardly see where his ball even lies, as he demonstrates how difficult it is to get out of.
The rough is beyond deep, making players want to take a drop, rather than hit it. Even Seve Ballesteros couldn’t get out of this rough, but darn it, it makes the tournament even more tasty in my opinion.
It’s a way to push golfers to the limit. Sure, Erin Hills’ charm and public course hospitality may distract a player, but rough like that turns the course from a pretty butterfly, to a vicious snake.
With all that being said, Erin Hills is a stunning golf course, and will host many majors to come. Like Chambers Bay, which hosted the U.S. Open in 2015, Erin Hills is a young course, and will have an opportunity to flap its wings and escape the nest of the unkown.
With it being a public course, anybody can tee it up on this gem. My advice would be, if you hit it into that rough, don’t be a hero…..or you can put on your golf cape and turn your club into a magic wand.

Prescriptions are quite the drug. Police released video footage of Tiger Woods’ arrest from Monday morning, and as you’ll see, he looked just a tad bit lost.

Woods last played golf at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Since then, he has been ruled out for the season, as he tries to recover from yet another injury.
Not long after he said he feels better than ever before, the sad arrest occurs. Let’s hope that anyone who sees this knows the dangers of not being careful of how much prescription drugs you take.
Many kids will get high off of them because they feel “safe” taking them. So, little children of the vast lands of the world, learn from Tiger and don’t drive under the influence. As you stay off the influence, make sure you play some golf (duh).

WARNING: What you are about to see is a piece of mini golf trick shot mastery that will surely change the way you think about life. Viewer discretion is advised.
Behold, I present to you, one of the greatest mini golf shot ever hit. Somebody shared a clip of them hitting a putt that ricochets off a rock, and then makes its way to the cup.
This is certainly one of those “what in tarnation?” moments. How the ball just bounces its way off the rock, bounces backwards to a group of smaller rocks and then rolls on a perfect line to the hole is amazing.
See, that’s the cool thing about mini golf. You have a higher chance of hitting an amazing shot, although certainly hitting a great shot on a full course is sweet as candy.
Although this shot was simply absurd, the world of mini golf is full of interesting possibilities. It’s the one place where the hazards are actually your friends sometimes, as you saw in the video.
With nearly a million views, there’s no doubt a good chunk of you are going to head to your local mini golf track, grab those rainbow putters, and (try to) do something incredible. Just don’t leave a sea of tears if you fail at your trick shot attempts, that wouldn’t be nice for the course owners to clean up.
Don’t worry, I still have faith in you.

Golf is full of amazing highlight reel shots, and TPC Sawgrass is capable of being a home for these shots, despite the toughness of the course. Rafa Cabrera nailed one at the 16th hole.
The PLAYERS Championship is one of the best golf tournaments in the world for a reason. We’ve seen some of the greatest shots in the sport at the iconic TPC Sawgrass.
During the week, we first witnessed an ace on the legendary 17th hole from Masters champion Sergio Garica, and now, and albatross, executed by Rafa Cabrera at the famed 16th hole.
Chances for amazing shots like this is why TPC Sawgrass is one of the funnest golf courses on earth. Take a look at this incredible shot.
— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) May 14, 2017
Although the 17th hole, Alice Dye’s Island of Wonders, gives you nightmares about water, the 16th hole makes you lick your chops. It’s an excellent hole design that’s perfect for the long hitters, and Cabrera took advantage with a pin seeking missle.
