Ahh, the wonderful world of Twitter. It’s full of quick news, quick wits, tools, and straight savages. Rory McIlroy is one of those ferocious beasts of the 140 character social media site.
Former PGA Tour player Steve Elkington is never shy to share his feelings on social media. Well, he took a little jab at McIlroy who missed the cut at the U.S. Open. Turns out that was a big mistake, because you don’t mess with Rory McIlroy on Twitter.
More like 200mil… not bad for a “bored” 28 year old… plenty more where that came from. pic.twitter.com/R2nigEaee7

And McIlroy can say a lot. When you’re a four-time major champion before the age of thirty, that speaks volumes. Not to mention the insane money he’s made, which he pointed out.
And this isn’t the only time McIlroy went in on Twitter. He’s had a couple of spats with Golf Channel personality, Brandel Chamblee among others.
Just because he’s a nice guy, doesn’t mean he won’t bite you with the poison fangs. Well played Rory. Well played.
