Muhammad Ali’s first golf shot was amazing

A couple of days ago, the sports and cultural world lost one of it’s biggest icons as boxing legend Muhammad Ali passed away at the age of 74. Ali was one of sports’ first true megastars and was known for his clever and quick fighting style.

His world famous move, the “Rope-a-Dope” is a major reason why he dominated so many fights. The move, is to basically dodge punches and move around in order to tire his opponent out, making a perfect timing to go in for the kill and worked immensely.

Apparently, Ali had a good golf swing too. On his very first attempt to ever swing a golf club, Ali hit an 8-iron 140 yards and was perfectly straight.

Again, this was his very first golf swing. Then, not only that, his second shot was also a good one.

After his second shot, he made a quote that only Muhammad Ali could:

“Muhammad Ali is the world’s greatest golfer! Nobody can beat Muhammad Ali! Not Arnold Palmer, not Jack Nicklaus, not nobody. I’m gonna make ’em look bad, predict the score, how bad I’m gonna beat ’em, everything — just like I do in boxing!”

Mr. Ali, you really were the greatest. R.I.P
