Ahh, it’s one of golf’s most interesting “stunts”. Drivers are made for hitting off the tee to start a hole but sometimes, when in the fairway, you may be too far away from the flag to go for it.
So, what do you do? Use your driver on the fairway of course. And that’s what Justin Rose attempted to do at the Zurich Classic.
Let’s just say it didn’t go very well. Rose duffed it.
We can certainly say he won’t be the master at it like Laura Davies is. So, if you really need to kids, remove the “S” on your chest and lay up if you have to. Don’t be shy.
Be sure to follow me on Twitter @ChiGolfRadio! I almost never lay up but then again I never keep score (And never will)!

Miguel Angel Jimenez is known as “the most interesting man in golf” and he’s continued to live up to that name by hitting golf shots off of the Great Wall of China.
During the Volvo China Open is when he decided to go on his golfing adventure. Ladies and gentlemen, this is urban golf at its finest.
With 21 European Tour wins, and one golf’s all-time leaders in holes-in-ones, add this to his list of wins. Oh, so much win.
Be sure to follow me on Twitter @ChiGolfRadio! My swings would probably make the Great Wall collapse!

As you may know now, unless you drifted off into wonderland, that Jordan Spieth had one one of biggest meltdowns in Masters history by losing a six stroke lead on the back nine. Danny Willett would win it with a bogey-free round.
But, despite the shocking loss, the video above show a funny version of it. It’s a perfect way to show exactly how a lot of us play golf, after all, it always seems like a video game glitch for most of us.
Enjoy the video by The Kicker, and I hope it brightens up your Monday. Happy golfing.

Tiger Woods may be returning to golf sooner than you think as he was seen at a junior golf clinic hitting golf balls.
Woods has been behind the ropes since the Fall of 2015 and was said to be out of golf for a long time. But, with footage of Woods taking full swings on a course, the story may change and he even reportedly drove the ball 300 yards with his driver.
Here’s the clip:

Tim Rosaforte reported that Woods could possibly make a return at the Wells Fargo Championship or the Players Championship, both being marquee tournaments on the PGA Tour.

There has been quite a bit of the 14 time major champion the last few days. First, Jason Sobel of ESPN teased that “Golf Twitter is going to break tomorrow” and it turns out that the tease was a longform article (Short story?) about Woods personal life and upbringing written by Wright Thompson.
The piece has since garnered a ton of attention. Some of the main things in the article include how wired he was with the military as he was always with his father (Earl Woods) and his friends who were all veterans. Woods didn’t have many friends until he met former player and Golf Channel analyst Notah Begay III at a young age.
The also talks about how Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan taught him how to talk to women (Basically) which ultimately could’ve led to his infamous scandal back in 2009, knowing the power he had. But the main point of the article is that, ever since his father died, it has been the biggest reason that he has had his downfall from greatness and how Woods developed in obsession with the Navy Seals because of his father.
However, ironically, the clips above surfaced across social media, not long after Thompson posted his piece. So, although Thompson’s piece was talking about the reasons of his downfall, the videos show that he’s swinging good again.
The clips aren’t a guarantee that he’ll be great again, but it was just interesting with the timing of them. Woods is no stranger to leaving and coming back to golf however as this may be the third time has done so in his career due to injury problems.
NBA legend and friend Michael Jordan said via the Thompson piece that he thinks Woods is “tired” and “wants to retire”. Jordan also said he’s worried about him.
Woods played fairly well at last year’s Masters but missed the cut at the U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship. When Woods returns, he and Phil Mickelson who are longtime rivals, will be sailing in the sea of young talent trying to see which ship reaches land first.
Should be interesting.

Adam Scott, who won the Masters in 2013 and is a probable future Hall of Famer, has decided to skip the 2016 Summer Olympics at Rio De Jinero. This is the first time golf has been in the Olympics since 1904 when the games were held in St. Louis.
— Benjamin Everill (@beneverill) April 20, 2016
Here’s an official statement from Scott on the matter:
“My decision has been taken as a result of an extremely busy playing schedule around the time of the Olympics and other commitments, both personal and professional,” said Scott
“I have informed the Australian team captain and relevant authorities, who are understanding of my position and I wish the Australian Olympic team the very best of luck in Rio.”
Marc Leishman would be the “next man up” as the lead player for team Australia. Problem is, with some of the problems that Rio has, and with Lieshman’s wife, Audrey not feeling good, Lieshman is scared of the possibilities of illness.
Lieshman may not go to Rio either. We shall see.
Scott has 29 worldwide victories including 13 on the PGA Tour and 10 on the European Tour. He has already won two tournaments this year.

During the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town, Jerry Kelly may have took home the award for coolest wedges. He had irons which featured $100 bills painted on the club heads.
Kelly actually had the same wedge at last year’s Players Championship. But the “Benji” once again makes a triumphant appearance.
Other players have done some fun and creative designs with their clubs, but the Kelly wedge is ballin’. Nothing says you’re an OG more so than $100 painted on your wedges.
Well played Mr. Kelly. Well played.
Be sure to follow me on Twitter @ChiGolfRadio! I’ll paint a dollar bill on my wedge and I’ll call him…”Georgie”! #Georgie

There’ s a man named “Tiger Hood” who hits empty mil cartons with a golf club around Manhattan. Yup, the man, Patrick Farr, found a club in the trash and started hitting cartons one-by-one.
I’m someone who absolutely adores urban golf and the ability to take the creativity of golf off the course. Tiger Hood, if given enough publicity, can certainly populate the urban/street golf scene.
Urban golf has become so popular, that there is a European Urban Golf Cup held each year (In World Cup style format). Farr (Tiger Hood) could extend that fanbase and may get others to enjoy urban golf.
This 30 for 30 Short should tell you all you need to know about Farr. This will also grow his fanbase as well and maybe others will join in on the urban golf fun.

Social media has had many fun and interesting ways to express yourself and one of those things has been emojis. Well, Bubba Watson, who has a whopping 1.53 million followers on Twitter announced his own emojis that you can purchase.
It’s only fitting as Watson is known as one of golf’s biggest characters. Here are all of the “Bubbamojis” you can get.
You can purchase these for $1.99. The crying and angry Bubbamojis are totally fitting by the way.
Be sure to follow me o Twitter @ChiGolfRaio! Don’t expect “Colinmojis” anytime soon! If I had some, they would be golf and video game related!

While Jordan Spieth suffered a horrible collapse and Danny Willett took advantage of the opportunity to win the 2016 Masters, Louis Oosthuizen may have hit the best hole-in-one in Masters history.
The 2010 Open Championship winner, Oosthuizen hit his tee shot on the 16th at Augusta, that landed on the green, hit the other ball, then rolled into the cup. Oosthuizen is one of the longest hitters in golf but proved to be one of the most accurate with that shot on the par-3.
Don’t expect too many aces at Oakmont which has some of the trickiest par-3’s in the world. As a whole, the U.S. Open course can be an absolute pain, so good luck Louis and friends.
Be sure to follow me on Twitter @ChiGolfRadio! With the Masters completed, it’s time to start talking some U.S. Open!

Englishman Danny Willett has won the 2016 Masters with a bogey-free -5, 67 final round in unfavorable conditions. He becomes only the second player from England to win the Masters.
The only other Englishman to win it is Sir Nick Faldo who won it three times. Willett defeated Lee Westwood and Jordan Spieth by three shots for his fifth worldwide win and first major.
Willett began the round at even par while Spieth was attempting to go wire-to-wire for his second straight Masters victory. Spieth was -7 going into the back nine and five shots ahead of the field.
Spieth had the wire-to-wire lead, but the players in second and third place were switching like wildfire. At one point, even 58-year-old Bernhard Langer was just a couple of shots off the lead.
The 28-year-old Willett wasn’t even sure if he was going to play in the Masters as he was expecting a child in the same week. On top of that, this was only his second Masters appearance.
Last season, Willett finished in a tie for 38th at Augusta. His best finish in any major was at the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews where he finished tied for sixth (Zach Johnson won it in a playoff against Marc Lieshman and Louis Oosthuizen).
Willett is the 12th ranked player in the world and that ranking will likely go up after this victory. Spieth, who won the Masters last year with a record tying -18, was looking to become only the fourth player in golf history to win back-to-back Green Jackets.
But, the combination of a couple of bogeys including a quadruple-bogey on the back nine by Spieth, and a scorching round by Willett, lead to the end of what was a roller coaster of a Masters tournament.
