OK, not sure if this is supposed to be sexy or disturbing. Dunlop, who are solid golf club makers have created golf tees that are shaped like naked women. Yep, that’s right. In a way it looks like both a tee, and divot tool. It’s called the “Nudie Tee”. It’s headless so the golf ball will kind of be like the head. Let me guess, you were dreaming about naked women with golf ball heads weren’t you? WEREN’T YOU? Well, if that’s the case then this is the tee for you! However, there has been quite a controversy with the tees.
According to the New York Daily News, Zoe Michel, a 26-year-old Manhattan fashion writer, who was heading to a golf lesson said that the tees are “stupid machismo.” “It’s another way to make women’s bodies objects,” she told the Daily News.
Meanwhile, John Nugent, who was at the driving range said he wouldn’t even bother using them.
“It’s definitely sexist,” the 16-year-old said according to the Daily News. “You’re hitting the ball off a headless, naked woman. How could you feel right doing it?”
However, a 28-year-old man named A.J. Mesiti had a different thought. “It’s not offensive; in fact, it’s pretty cool,” he told the Daily News.
Well, it’s definitely a given that a good chunk of women will get offended by it but I have to ask, why in the world are you asking a 16-year-old boy about naked women tees? That made me a laugh a bit. It’s like “Hey! Son! What do you think of those big ol’ boobies over there!”. All kidding aside, it’s doesn’t matter to me. If it sells, it sells, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I’m going to stick with my regular tees myself because that’s how I roll. Now, it would be pretty cool if there were thick golf tees!
