This year’s PGA Championship had its ups and downs with different leaders at times but only one prevailed and it was a guy who many thought was going to be arguably the most dominant American player this year but has been fairly quiet this year but, Jason Dufner took on the task of trying to win the final major of the season and he did it in a fine matter already having a PGA Championship record of 63 on Saturday giving him a lead over Jim Furyk who was playing great golf himself. “Duff” like Jimmy Furyk, is a fan favorite so it was a lot of fun seeing those guys towards the top but Jason took home the Wanamaker trophy and proved to the world that he is one of the best players on Tour and that he will be a force come next season. Because imagine this: Dufner, Woods, Kuchar, Mickelson, and Snedeker all representing the U.S. in the top 10 World Golf Rankings next year, how cool would that be? Not to mention you have Steve Stricker who is a top 20 guy. Jason is a guy who can destroy any course with his dead one accuracy from the fairway, he can easily hit a shot and get within 10 or five feet from the hole and that will help any player win a major but “Duff” is extremely dangerous with it and is a huge reason why so many people had him being a stud this year but was kind of quiet but ended up with a major title anyway and that’s why this is such a great story.
Plus, he’s a very popular player like I mentioned before and that’s also why it’s a great story and he goes out on the course cool, calm and collected and there aren’t many players who have that, he shows hardly any emotion out there but then he strikes hard and plays some tremendous golf in one of the finer PGA Championship performances in recent memory. The way he was hitting his approach shots was incredible and the crowd was into the whole way at Oak Hill in New York. Jason’s going to be a great player for a long time if he adds more wins to that PGA title he has and I’m sure after winning the PGA, he’ll be even more motivated to win more tournaments next year or even before this season is out, he could have one exrta win or two under his belt and the future looks bright for the almighty Jason Dufner so congrats to him and what a wonderful year it’s been for the majors this year including the Players Championship and next year’s majors and Players Championship should be even more fun. Looking forward to it and I know you guys are too! Keep it cool ya’ll and keep enjoying golf! From Chicago with love.
